We call on the competent authorities not to proceed with the adoption of the proposed decision of the Municipal Council on the renaming of streets in Srebrenica

SARAJEVO, 15 April 2024 - The OSCE Mission to BiH (Mission) urges relevant authorities not to proceed with a proposed Municipal Council decision regarding the renaming of streets in Srebrenica.

The possibilities to reach an inclusive and transparent solution are far from exhausted.

The Mission has engaged municipal authorities on several occasions and levels on this issue and reiterates its offer to facilitate a resolution acceptable to all communities in Srebrenica.

The Mission calls on authorities to address this in the spirit of mutual understanding, respect, and reconciliation as a matter of urgency.
