OSCE condemns violence against law enforcement officers

SARAJEVO, 02 October 2026 - The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina (Mission) reiterates its support for law enforcement institutions and officers across the country in their essential role of safeguarding public safety and upholding the rule of law.

The Mission strongly condemns all forms of violence, threats and intimidation against police officers and other law enforcement personnel. Those entrusted with protecting the public and upholding the law must be able to perform their duties safely, professionally and free from violence or intimidation.

Any such acts should be promptly, thoroughly and impartially investigated by the competent authorities, and those responsible held accountable in accordance with the law.

Ensuring the safety and security of law enforcement personnel is essential to effective policing, the rule of law and the safety of all communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
