The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina are closely monitoring developments related to the questioning of individuals who are or were professionally engaged with the Srebrenica Memorial Centre.

As these developments have generated significant public attention and concern, we underline the importance of judicial institutions ensuring timely, transparent and accurate public communication in matters of significant public interest.

In accordance with the BiH High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council's Communication Strategy 2026–2029, we encourage the competent judicial authorities to proactively communicate relevant information to the public, while respecting the applicable procedural safeguards of all persons involved.

We take this opportunity to reaffirm the vital role of the Srebrenica Memorial Centre in preserving the memory of the victims of the 1995 genocide, safeguarding legally established facts, and countering genocide denial and the glorification of war criminals.
