SARAJEVO, 24 March 2016 – Ambassador Jonathan Moore, Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, today issued the following statement after the conviction of Radovan Karadzic:

“My thoughts today are with the families of the victims of the genocide and other terrible crimes that were committed during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I hope that this conviction will bring a small degree of satisfaction to those who have been seeking justice for so long. The pursuit of justice leaves none of us indifferent. It can be a long, complicated and controversial process. However, more than twenty years later, it is vitally important to bring war criminals to justice. That is essential to building a lasting peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
